Human remains were found on Highway 155 near FM 321 in Anderson County. According to Anderson County Sheriff Chief Deputy Troy Black, a landowner found the remains Sunday afternoon and called authorities. The remains were decomposed so badly, investigators were unable to determine the age or sex of the body.
The remains will be sent for an autopsy. Chief Deputy Black said authorities are investigating this case as if it was a crime scene, but Black said investigators have not determined if, indeed, a crime has occurred.
The Texas Rangers and the Anderson County District Attorney's Office are assisting with the investigation.
