A representative from the state Green Communities Division will make a presentation on how to make Abington ?green? at Monday night?s selectmen meeting.
Seth Pickering, the Southeast region coordinator, will present to the board some ways the town of Abington could become one of Massachusetts? green towns.
Pickering will give an overview of the Green communities designation and grant program which 86 other towns in the state have earned.
The division would work with the town to reduce energy use in municipal and school buildings, establish power purchase agreements that enable financially attractive renewable energy generation and adopt the latest building codes.
Selectmen will also set the warrant for town meeting in April.
